Trust Links is a local charity working in Southend and the surrounding area to support people experiencing mental health problems.
Through therapeutic gardening, we aim to nurture the wellbeing of our members, improve mental health, offer a quiet place to think and relax, provide access to new skills in horticulture leading to job opportunities and build strong community links.
Founded in 2000, Trust Links has established excellent links with the community in Southend. Our Growing Together Garden in Westcliff is open to visitors from Monday to Friday and is a wonderful place to relax in during the summer or buy some plants in the spring and get some free expert advice. Trust Links launched Growing Together Shoeburyness in 2013 and in 2015 Growing Together Thundersley was acquired and will be up and running soon.
Our members have access to a range of services as well as working in the garden. We offer yoga sessions, art and music classes, woodwork, courses for carers, a job club, a women’s group at Shoeburyness and arrange trips to places of interest to our members.
We also look after the historic St Laurence Orchard in Eastwoodbury Lane on behalf of Southend Borough Council. This ancient orchard is a small but vital oasis for wildlife and is home to apple and pear trees. We run monthly working parties to restore and maintain it.
