Carers Breakthrough

CarersCounselling and Peer Support Activities for Carers

Being a carer of a loved one who is unwell can be extremely rewarding, but also very demanding, and can have a significant impact on your life.  As part of the Southend Carers Hub, we offer counselling and listening support to carers.  We also run a range of peer support activities for unpaid carers across Southend Borough.

Our Peer Support Groups can help build important social networks for carers to reduce feelings of isolation and address carers own needs outside their caring role.  Attending a group can help to reduce stress, offer carers the chance to speak to others in a similar caring position and provide  advice and support in accessing other agencies and services.

The groups cover a wide range of activities to try and ensure we have something for everyone including IT, walking, yoga, a book group, digital arts, fitness, OCD and Anxiety Management, and a monthly carers group.   You can access our current list of activities here.

Please email or call 01702 393933 to find our more about how to register for our counselling and listening support services.
