The Trust Links’ Community Shed was launched in 2018, and Shed Volunteer, John, was recently nominated for an award for his commitment and contribution as a volunteer. The Shedders meet every Wednesday morning and make a selection of items that we either use in our wildlife gardens, or sell to members of the public. Not only does John and the team provide a friendly work environment for our members, but the products they make go on to raise vitals funds for Trust Links and we are so grateful for their support.
Trust Links Volunteer Co-ordinator, Beverley Parrish, said "we are privileged to have such a rich array of talented and committed volunteers at Trust Links, but John has gone over and above this last year and has helped us to create and nurture a wonderful environment for local people. We are proud to be part of the Men’s Shed Network which was developed to tackle loneliness and isolation amongst men, and our shed creates a meaningful way for men and women to come together, make friends, learn new skills, and make a difference.”
She added "we would like to extend a huge thanks to John, and all our Community Shed volunteers for making our first year such a success.”
The Trust Links Community Shed takes place at Growing Together Thundersley every Wednesday morning. The garden is open every day to wander through, however the Growing Together project will be there to help you with any purchases on Fridays between 9am and 4pm To find out more call us on 01702 213134.
