Walk with us this September and help transform lives!

With less than a month until our annual sponsored walk we are encouraging individuals and families to get their registration completed for Walking Together, taking place on Saturday 21st September 2019.

The walk will be started by the Mayor of Castle Point, Cllr Colin Riley, at Growing Together Thundersley. Cllr Riley said "this walk is a great opportunity for families to support the  local community and walk together to raise money for Trust Links who carry out excellent work to transform the lives of people with mental health issues in Southend”.

Walking Together is suitable for all fitness levels and all ages and is a wonderful way to spend a Saturday as participants will walk from Thundersley, through Belfairs Woods and along the peaceful Prittlebrook Greenway. Walkers will then be treated to a free bacon or vegetarian sausage sandwich before heading to Rochford via the historic St Laurence Orchard in Southend.

Trust Links Chief Executive, Matt King, said "we have all sorts of exciting stops on this sponsored walk which means that participants that are not able to complete the 11-mile challenge can join in at various points along the route depending on what distance best suits them. We may start the route at different places, but we will all finish together and celebrate with a free cream tea at Growing Together Rochford where there will be an afternoon of art, music and culture as part of the Rochford Arts Festival.”

He continued "There is no charge to take part but we are hopeful that participants will help us to beat last year’s target of £3,000 by getting creative with their fundraising and sponsorship for their walking challenge”
