Huge thanks to all our supporters that raised over £400 to help repair the damage at Growing Together Shoeburyness

As you may already know, we have had our therapeutic garden in Shoeburyness repeatedly attacked by vandals, but we have been overwhelmed with support from our community to help repair the damage.

To show our gratitude, we recently held an afternoon tea to thank those that have donated and let our supporters see for themselves just how loved our gardens are.

The last attacks in July saw our pet guinea pig outdoor enclosures smashed, our gardens flooded, all our potatoes dug up and stolen, and our CCTV damaged too, but the community have got behind us and raised over £400 as well as donating fantastic new enclosures for our guinea pigs too!

Growing Together Shoeburyness is a therapeutic garden for people living with mental health problems, and is enjoyed by lots of local families. It is also home to our weekly women’s group and youth club, and the vandalism hit us hard! Our Chief Executive, Matt King said "our members spend hours in our gardens working hard and they have a real personal attachment to them. For some, they may not have gardens of their own, or the friendships they make help them to feel connected within our community, so this mindless vandalism felt like a very personal attack.”

He continued "we are so grateful to our wonderful community for pulling together and helping us repair the damage caused, but we are still desperately in need of support to upgrade our CCTV system and secure our garden to safeguard it in the future and would love to hear from any local businesses that might be able to help?”

If you could help Trust Links secure their garden, or would like to donate, call 01702 213134 or visit for more information.
