We recently welcomed the Bishop of Bradwell, The Rt Revd Dr John Perumbalath to Trust Links for a tour of our Growing Together projects. He visited Rochford and Shoeburyness, and finally Westcliff where he was warmly welcomed by many faith leaders for afternoon tea.
Trust Links supports over 1,000 people a year and is an integral part of community life for many and Chief Executive, Matt King, said it was a pleasure to show the Bishop of Bradwell around.
He added "As well as the work we do with individuals to improve wellbeing, we consider ourselves to be part of the wider community, and were so pleased to be joined by the Bishop and so many faith leaders too. The Bishop said he really enjoyed his visit, and we invite anyone wanting to find out more about Trust Links to come and take a look around."
He continued "Trust Links was originally founded by churches in Southend and we are keen to maintain our links with churches and other faith and community groups in the future. If there are churches and other groups that would like to visit or who are interested in supporting mental health through fundraising for Trust Links, we would be delighted to hear from them.”
The Bishop said "We live in difficult times and for many of our vulnerable brothers and sisters it is hard to find the support they need. Trust Links is a great example of how we can partner together in working towards stronger communities, sustainable living and individual well-being. Trust Link projects are run by a passionate staff team who consider their work as a vocation rather than a job. They need the support of the wider community to carry on this amazing work.”
