Trust Links will be running an exciting FREE cycling event taking place on Friday 1st November in partnership with Forward Motion. We will be opening up all of our gardens from Shoeburyness to Thundersley, as well as the historic St Laurence Orchard and Mendip Wildlife Garden, for our big Garden Ride. We are hoping to encourage local people to get cycling or walking and visit as many of the sites as possible, and there will be guided rides and pre-event cycle training available too. There will be refreshments and fun activities at all locations, welcoming riders and walkers to get active and visit as many sites as you can!
When you visit any of the sites you will receive a Garden Ride passport and a free wristband. For every new site you visit you will receive a stamp on your passport and another wristband. How many sites can you visit in one day?
The event is suitable for the whole family, and you can do as much or as little as you feel comfortable to do. If you're not very confident on a bike, don't worry; our partners ForwardMotion will be providing FREE cycle training before the event, and they will be leading two guided cycles on the day. More confident cyclists can pick up a map from any of our sites and ride between them at their leisure. There will be lots going on BUT watch for our opening times, some sites will be only open for a couple of hours and some will be open all day.
You can ride to any of our sites on the 1st November but if you want to take part in cycle training, the guided cycle, or the guided walk you will need to register.
Cycle training events will be held at Trust Links' Westcliff site on the 18th and the 25th October. There will be two sessions each day: one from 10am-12am and another from 12.30pm-2.30pm.
