It's become a tradition at Trust Links to host our Christmas meal at The Cricketers' Pub in Westcliff, and 2019 was no exception - we were so pleased to celebrate with over 100 of our members, volunteers and staff.
Inclusivity is at the heart of our work, and at this time of year it is important to us to put on a supportive, inclusive Christmas celebration. Thanks to another year’s successful fundraising Trust Links were able to heavily subsidise the meal, asking for a donation of just £5 from guests for the meal and dessert.
Matt King, Chief Executive at Trust Links, said: "Christmas can be hard for some people, especially those struggling with their mental health, finances, or anyone that is feeling socially isolated. This is why it is so important to offer an opportunity for people to come together in a safe and supportive environment to enjoy the festivities.”
He continued: "Being able to subsidise the cost of the meal means that more people are able to attend, and at Trust Links we do all we can to remove the barriers that stop people accessing support. We would not be able to do this without the continued support of our wonderful community, and we are very grateful to all our supporters and fundraisers.”
If you are in need of advice or support, pop into Trust Links’ new REACH Wellbeing Hub any day from 1pm - 4pm and chat to their friendly team. The Hub can be found at Growing Together Westcliff (on the corner of Fairfax Drive and Prittlewell Chase).
Thank you to everyone that has supported our work, taken part in our events, volunteered at Trust Links or who has joined our amazing community of members. We couldn't do it without all of you and we hope that you have a very Merry Christmas.
