Shoeburyness Vintage Tea Party
Visitors had the chance to let their hair down and get their hair put up Vintage Style at the Trust Links Growing Together Shoeburyness garden on Saturday.
The therapeutic garden charity welcomed Jazz Fusion playing live music on the stage, and Sam Sanders proved a dab hand at "pin rolls” which were popular in the 1940s.
Sally Abineri who had her hair expertly "done” said: "It’s amazing what a difference it makes and how innovative and resourceful people were. It’s a lovely thing to be able to offer everyone today in the ambience of the garden where so many people get so much enjoyment and a break from their problems.”
Those who dressed up for the part received a token entitling them to free tea and cake with the craft stalls, tombola and cake stand proving popular.
Trust Links Chief Executive, Matt King said; "Our gardens offer those in Shoeburyness and further afield a place where they can get peer support and therapy through the projects here including Dig It Youth which is open for children aged 10 every Monday.”
Trust Links next event is its Annual Fundraising Walk from Growing Together Shoeburyness to Growing Together Westcliff and then on to the new garden, Growing Together Thundersley which takes place on Saturday September 17.
