More than 40 people joined the Walking Together sponsored walk, in aid of Trust Links. The walk was held on Saturday morning and the route was six miles from the charity’s Growing Together Shoeburyness garden to Growing Together Westcliff. Walkers raised more than £2,000 supporting the charity’s vital work for mental health in South East Essex.
Matt King, Chief Executive of Trust Links, said: "We are so grateful to all of our walkers and sponsors at the fourth annual Walking Together sponsored walk. Walkers included our members, many of whom have mental health problems themselves, as well as our volunteers, staff and supporters.”
Matt added "Walking Together helps raise funds for Trust Links, which runs four Growing Together community gardens, carers support services and the REACH Recovery College in south east Essex. Our projects helped 1,000 people over the last year. Fundraising and donations from the public are crucial in helping us sustain and develop these life saving services for local people, improving mental health and wellbeing. One in four people suffer from a mental health problem, so our services are in greater demand than ever.”
