We are currently preparing for our Christmas Fayre which is being held at Growing Together Westcliff this Saturday, and are hoping many local families will join us as we kick off our festivities.
At Trust Links we provide therapeutic activities to boost wellbeing, develop skills, and improve confidence, and members have been busy creating unique, hand-made decorations to sell for just a small donation at our Fayre to raise money for the year ahead. We regularly reach out to over 1,000 local people with mental health problems, learning disabilities, young people and unpaid carers each year and rely heavily on donations and fundraising events to continue our work.
Growing Together member Lou Eggar, 32, has enjoyed learning new skills and furthering her creative interests with support from Trust Links. She said "I’ve always enjoyed woodwork, coming to Growing Together Westcliff helps me to interact with people and gets my creative juices flowing.”
Lou and other Trust Links members have enjoyed making wooden pallet Christmas Tree’s as well as other festive decorations as part of a therapeutic pathway to wellbeing through creativity and personal development. These hand-made items will all be on sale at the Christmas Fayre on Saturday, Lou added "all the things that will be available here on Saturday are unique and gave so many people the opportunity to get involved with something a little different.”
Our free Christmas Fayre takes place at Growing Together Westcliff on the corner of Prittlewell Chase and Fairfax Drive this Saturday from 11am – 2pm. Younger guests can visit Santa in his Grotto for just a small donation and food and hot drinks will be available to purchase for a small donation too.
We hope to see you there!
