Roots To Work

In September, Trust Links launched another Roots To Work employment support project, to help local people get back into work and learn employable skills.

Roots To Work is a great place to learn new skills, boost your confidence, and to meet new people. The first Roots To Work session will be on Monday the 16th September. Each Monday will be a training day at Growing Together Westcliff, and on Thursdays participants will gain hands-on experience in one of our community gardens at Westcliff, Rochford, Shoeburyness, or Thundersley.

Each participant builds a portfolio during the Roots To Work project that demonstrates their achievements. We will also introduce you to a range of employment, volunteering, and training opportunities.

Participants receive:

  • A Keyworker who can provide information, advice, and guidance on accessing wellbeing support
  • Support with self-care and presentation skills
  • Horticultural work experience and informal training
  • Employability workshops designed to improve confidence and self-esteem building, help with job searching and applications, CV writing, interview techniques, and work routines
  • Accredited vocational training including First Aid, Food Hygiene and Manual Handling and referrals to  Job Club and support with seeking employment.

Roots To Work has been successful in the past and we have helped many people find paid or voluntary work. If you would like to make a referral or would like more information, please call us on 01702 213134 or email Emma at admin-support@trustlinks.org.
