Support
us
Our
vision of the future, underpinned by our five-year strategic plan,
is not only to develop and build on our success to date, but to
implement further innovative services for the mentally ill by creating
new resources and new links to the community.
In
the Southend area there are many people who benefit from our services,
but it is nowhere near enough to meet the huge demand. We need to
grow and develop so that we can provide more help and support for
more people. In our plans are:
- The
development of the Trust Links Centre that will provide space
for training and housing our services. We are already well on
our way to achieving this, thanks to the generosity of the Mayor’s
fund, who have raised £30,000 towards its construction
and development. We are endeavouring to find other funders and
sponsors who will help us achieve our aim, so we can provide
quality training and support.
- In
conjunction with training we wish to provide real work experience
to help people towards employment. We have now developed a sales
training area at the Trust Links garden where the public can
come and buy the plants and vegetables we have grown. We are,
however, running out of space and wish to develop a new area
of land as a nursery and growing area. This will allow us to
develop more varied opportunities for more people who need our
help. We feel by taking the proven model we have developed to
another part of Southend, we will be able to help redevelop
and revitalise another local community.
- To
help people further to move into employment and utilise some
of the skills they have learned with us, we are developing a
Gardening and Maintenance team. We will be looking to expand
this by undertaking gardening for local businesses and the public.
To
support all this work we need to raise funds to expand our team
and our resources. We hope to be able eventually to use these activities
to set up a social firm so we can sustain our work and provide employment
opportunities for this local community. We are happy to talk to
potential supporters about detailed ways to help us at various levels.
How
YOU can help us
To
support our exciting plans for the next phase in our development,
we are looking to secure funding of £250,000. This will enable
us to expand our team and our resources to deliver our plan and
better serve our local population.
We
are asking for the support of local businesses and other organisations,
as well as individuals, to help us achieve our ambitions.
There
are many ways in which you can help us. Here are just a few:
