It takes someone special to run a marathon, and this year we are lucky enough to have two wonderful people running the London Marathon for us!
Jack and Sean are both passionate about Trust Links and the work we do, and they both have a close personal link to our charity. On the 26th April they will be taking on one of the most iconic marathons in the world in aid of Trust Links and we are so very grateful for their support.
Jack Hennebry from Southend has chosen to run his first marathon for
Trust Links, and with less than 2 months to go, he is racking up the miles because our charity is close to his family’s heart.
He recently told us “my Dad, Aunt and Uncle all volunteer for Trust Links, and they have their own allotments too so they appreciate the benefits of therapeutic gardening. My uncle plays in the Trust Links band and regularly plays at their events, so he said why not keep it in the family and run for Trust Links”.
Jack and his family have organised a Quiz Night at Ambleside Social Club on Saturday 4th April (from 6:30pm) and are inviting people to join them for an evening of fun. For more about Jack’s quiz or to make a donation, click here.
After Sean Hill from Southend lost a close friend who took his own life, he decided to run the London marathon for
Trust Links, a charity his friend was very passionate about. They played football together and Sean said the loss was and continues to be a ‘devastating blow for everyone that knew him’, but he wanted to carry forward what his friend cared so much about, and believed in.
He recently told us “Knowing that he cared so deeply for Trust Links led me to get in touch and see if I could help out in any way that I could, so that we could help more people who are struggling.”
He continued “The way Trust Links support the community and help people is so different, so unique, it leaves an impression on you. I’m so excited to be in the London Marathon and I can’t wait to run for Trust Links!”
Sean and his football team held a fundraising tournament on Boxing Day in memory of their team mate raising over £450 for Trust Links, and Sean held a quiz night on Friday 6th March raising a further £500! To support Sean’s cause with a donation. please click here.
