About Blooming Well

Blooming Well is a new Trust Links project for children and their families to enjoy between June and September 2020. With many children unable to go to school this year, we are providing resources to support learning and wellbeing through lockdown. The resources will stay on our website after this, so don’t worry if you’ve missed our calendar – there’s no rush to complete the activities each week.

Trust Links has delivered 500 activity boxes to families in Southend and Canvey Island in partnership with local food banks, social care and special educational needs networks.

Blooming Well releases a new topic each week, starting with Mini Beasts on the 22nd June and finishing with Transition and Change on the 7th September. There are six themes to explore on each topic: In the GardenWellbeing for ChildrenWellbeing for ParentsWildlife and the WorldGetting Creative; and Express Yourself. You might like to take one theme each day as you explore the topic for the week, or you could do all of the activities in one day – it’s up to you. You can also pick and choose the activities and themes that are particularly appealing for you.

Every week, you’ll find a new page for each of the topics related to the six Blooming Well themes. Each page has an activity page, a challenge and a short video, giving you some guidance for what we’ll be doing in that day’s session.

Make your own Activity pack

If you haven’t received a box you can still get involved by using the instruction sheets online, or printing them off, and using your own materials – pens, paper, gardening supplies, and others.

Get your activity badges online

For a small donation you can also get a set of Blooming Well badges and activity sheets sent to you at home.

We also have a Blooming Well closed Facebook group, which you can join as a way of engaging with other families that are taking part in the Blooming Well project. You can share your ideas, pictures, videos and experiences in a safe and supportive environment. The group will be moderated by a Trust Links staff member.
