Blooming Well

Welcome to the Blooming Well Project

With many children unable to go to school this summer and a long summer holiday ahead, Blooming Well is a project designed to support learning and wellbeing through lockdown and beyond. Aimed at Primary School aged children and their families, we have one topic per week over twelve weeks, with 6 separate activities for each topic.

Thanks to funding from the National Lottery Community Fund, we have distributed 500 boxes of resources to local families via social care, foodbanks, and charity groups. All of the online resources are free to view and download on this website. If you would like a set of Blooming Well badges for your children, please register by clicking below and we will send them out to you for a small donation to Trust Links.

How Blooming Well Works

Blooming Well releases a new topic each week, starting with Mini Beasts on the 22nd June and finishing with Transition and Change on the 7th September. There are six themes to explore on each topic: In the GardenWellbeing for ChildrenWellbeing for ParentsWildlife and the WorldGetting Creative; and Express Yourself. You might like to take one theme each day as you explore the topic for the week, or you could do all of the activities in one day – it’s up to you. You can also pick and choose the activities and themes that are particularly appealing for you.

Every week, you’ll find a new page for each topic related to the six Blooming Well themes, with a downloadable activity sheet, a challenge and a short video, giving you some guidance for what we’ll be doing in that session.

We would love you to join the Blooming Well closed Facebook group. This is a great way of engaging with other families that are also enjoying Blooming Well, so you can share your ideas, pictures, experiences and concerns in a safe and supportive environment. The group will be moderated by a Trust Links staff member.

Trust Links are delivering 500 activity boxes to families in Southend and Canvey Island in partnership with local food banks, social care and special educational needs networks.

Make your own activity boxes

If you haven’t received a box you can still get involved by gathering the resources needed yourselves and using the videos and the activity sheets online, or printing them off. Here is what you will need to get together for your activity box.
