Therapy Links is the new counselling service from Trust Links, helping to meet the demand for increased counselling and mental health support services in Southend and the local area.
What is available with Therapy Links
We offer face to face counselling at our Trust Links Westcliff site, and we also offer video conferencing or telephone options to meet need around shifting Covid-19 SARS Cov-2 government guidance and restrictions.
With Therapy Links you can access:
- A free initial assessment with one of our trained counsellors.
- 12 further sessions of 50 minutes.
- Fees are £15 for benefit recipients, £25 for non-benefit recipients, per session.
Our counselling team
Our counsellors are trained to a high standard to empathise and listen with presence and understanding. In addition, some of our counsellors are qualified in specific disciplines, theories and counselling styles. So, we aim to find the most complementary match for your needs, and areas you wish to work on.
Our counsellors can help with issues around:
- Confidence and self-esteem.
- Anxiety and uncertainty.
- Depression and low mood.
- Loss and grief.
- Family dynamics and childhood.
‘Counselling has helped me learn to listen to, and accept, myself. I feel like I’m investing in my future, and dealing with my past, when I have sessions’ – Daisy, client.
Referrals into Therapy Links
Due to unexpectedly high demand for the service, we are temporarily pausing referrals into Therapy Links. We are not holding a secondary waiting list, but we will be open for referrals again soon, so please check back later for updates.
When our referrals re-open, you will be able to refer into Therapy Links using the form on this page. Please ensure you scroll through the form and answer all required questions.
A member from our team will then be in touch to book you in for an initial assessment, discuss the service and next steps, and answer any questions you might have.
You may refer yourself, and professionals may also use this form to refer into the service.
Please note: We are not currently a specialised service for complex needs around PTSD and personality disorder diagnosis. We can work with these client groups on a case-by-case basis as appropriate, when we have Trauma Informed therapists available to attend to this need. We recommend consulting your GP when seeking or starting therapy.
Following updates to Public Health around Covid-19 we are now simply asking for both client and counsellor to not attend face-to-face sessions if they are experiencing any flu-like or Covid-19 related symptoms. We are no longer seeking evidence of a clear Covid test (lateral flow/PCR) prior to sessions.
We are a service for adults (18+).

What does counselling involve?
Counselling involves spending weekly time, called sessions, with a mental health professional to explore, challenge and overcome obstacles that stand in the way of us living our best life, whatever our circumstances. Counselling offers a space to helpfully and safely resolve personal and psychological problems.
