Growing Together for Dementia
We’re excited to announce Growing Together for Dementia – a new therapeutic gardening project starting June 2024 until May 2025.
The group will provide those living with dementia a chance to:
> Improve wellbeing in a friendly and supportive environment
> Socialise with others who are also living with dementia
> Benefit from a selection of meaningful activities designed with the help of an occupational therapist and our training provider ‘Dementia Adventure’
Growing Together for Dementia offers a more nature based alternative to the more traditional indoor day centres, and the project is suitable for people living with Dementia who have mild to moderate symptoms. We also accept referrals for people who are awaiting a diagnosis.
We do not provide carers to assist with personal care (although they are welcome to come with their own carer/family member).
We are seeking amazing volunteers to support this project!
See our role descriptions below, and if you’re interested, please complete the contact form here.

What is therapeutic gardening?
Therapeutic gardening is a practice where people work with plants and gardens to improve their mental and physical wellbeing. It can involve a range of activities like planting, watering, and taking care of plants, which has been shown to help emotional and physical wellbeing, sleep and waking patterns, and help reduce stress, anxiety and loneliness.
